Christmas Tree Cluster
NGC2264 - This cluster along with the Cone Nebula at the bottom sits about 2,700 light years away. It's in constellation Monoceros. This section of space near the Milky Way is made up of large amounts of nebulosity.
IC434 - The Horsehead and Flame Nebulas
The Horsehead is a dark nebula 1,500 light years away in constellation Orion. The redish colour is from hydrogen gas. The dark area in the Flame nebula to the left as actually a dark nebula within the ionized gas.

IC 1805 - The Heart Nebula
The Heart Nebula, IC 1805, lies 7,500 light years away from Earth. It is located in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way in the constellation Cassiopeia. This emission nebula shows glowing gas and dark dust lanes.

Also referred to as IC 443, this nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini. It sits about 5,000 light years from Earth.
This project was a collaboration between Jim Murphy and myself. Jim captured the Ha data and I captured the RGB data which we merged together.
